High above the noise, under the stars — we screen the world’s most powerful outdoor stories.

Who we are

Uzana Rainbow Hill Outdoor Film Festival is a celebration of movement, mountains, and meaningful stories — screened under the open sky. Held high in Bulgaria’s Stara Planina, the festival brings together outdoor lovers, filmmakers, athletes, and curious souls for a weekend of powerful films, crisp air, and starlit cinema. We curate stories from around the world that explore the human spirit in motion — from the peaks we climb to the distances we run, fly, and dream.

Hilights of the 2025 festival

  • A promotional poster for the documentary 'Champions of the Golden Valley'. Champions of the Golden Valley

In Afghanistan’s Bamyan province, young skiers from different ethnic groups come together on snowy slopes, led by coach Alishah Farhang. With modest equipment and wooden skis, they discover joy, unity, and meaning through sport. After dramatic events unfold in the country, their lives are turned upside down — but the lessons from the mountains continue to guide them.

  • Poster for a film titled 'Pir in the 30 Peaks Challenge,' featuring a stylized mountain landscape with snow-capped peaks and a blue circle representing the sun or moon. Contains text about the film's production, direction, and filming details.

    PIRIN: THE 30 PEAKS CHALLENGE

An inspiring story of athlete Nikola Kalistrin, who sets a new standard in mountain sports by traversing 30 peaks in the rugged and majestic Pirin range in just 10 hours.
Across steep ridgelines and rocky terrain, covering 44 kilometers and over 4,300 meters of elevation gain, Nikola completes this epic route on skis and on foot.
The film reveals the endurance, determination, and deep connection to his hometown, nestled at the foot of this untamed mountain.

  • Climber ascending a tall, narrow rock face on Mount Tengi in a snowy mountain landscape, with rugged peaks and glaciers in the background, and text overlay indicating a film poster for 'Aiguille du Midi' and film festival awards.

Aiguille du Midi Operation Electric Avenue

Near the summit of Aiguille du Midi, at 3,842 meters above sea level, surrounded by a sea of mountains, stands the 50-meter granite monolith known as Gendarme des Cosmiques.
For 30 years, it hosted only two climbing routes — Digital Crack (8a) and Arête des Cosmiques (8a).
That changed on August 10, 2022, when a new chapter in alpine climbing history was written.
